panaxman OP trapper P Joined: Jan 2012 Posts: 1,317 PA	Got a call for a snapper killing ducks, the guy was taking shots with shotgun whenever he saw it... First night with quarrles trap- 38lbs on scale my largest so far.

panaxman OP trapper P Joined: Jan 2012 Posts: 1,317 PA	Lewis Quarrles, Snowhill, MD passed away a few years ago. He built and sold a floating cylinder cage trap for snappers. Newt sells them too. I tie a half of brick on a four foot line to keep them from drifting too much. In pond/lake toss it in deep water 15' off shoreline, then retrieve with throw line and hook. Keeps most people from stealing them, although I had one ripped last week Had a 21lb female in same trap this morning. The big guy had some bird shot hits on his body armor
