Has anyone used this product from WCS ? Is it effective.... I have a client that has a barn used for parties that he wants to be bat free...... exclusion is not an option...he paid me to catch and relocate even though I assured him they would return he had to see it for himself "grin"......thanks for any input in advance...

Might want to check your state laws . Here in Michigan naphtallene is not labeled for use . It's a 5,000 fine per count . They would work in a enclosed area . Problem is it takes more than people can handle . If you do try it I would hang it in socks or something where it could be removed before the party's

Here's the problem when, ( and trust me, in can become one that you won't want !) when you start putting chemicals in people's homes...without a license to do so.
Moth balls, ammonia and all this other stuff labeled as some cleaner, disinfectant, etc., etc., etc...all falls under that depending which state you're in.

If you have an elderly person or even someone in that home who has an allergic reaction or trouble breathing....you'll end up with a law suit.
Tread lightly.

Despite the ingredients being the same, they must be used consistent with labeling. Pesticide license is required to apply commercially.

Better idea....rent a tent for the party.

just posted this issue on the .info site. a client i did exclusion for (multiple units) had one owner who despite everyone being satisfied that the bats are gone and excluded properly last year, made the manager place a bowl full of two boxes of "old fashioned" moth balls in the attic. I had to go inspect these units and when I opened the door it was literally breath taking, literally!!!

I told her she should have that unit owner sign a waiver to keep her safe and the mgmt. company as this guy was adamant.

(on a side note, he also made them put lighting in the attic that will always be on forever and ever! again as a bat deterrent)

While this is no loss of money or reputation to me, the fact these folks are being pushed to do this even when there are hundreds of articles and publications on the problems with this product, he still made them do it.

After I talked with her when we arrived and smelled it there, she said they would remove it and she would tell the owner that it was a no go on this.

It is just hard to believe, though another company had dragged out exclusion for 3+ years on this unit the guy lives in before they met us and I think
he likely just doesn't believe it will ever be solved by this process.

good thoughts LT and Dave!

Justin

Okay, did anyone notice who manufactures this fine product? The very same company who makes the world's finest cages. Yes, good old Woodstream.
