I have a sun porch with young coon under it have caught the mother but can't find the young. Left mother in trap for 2 days hoping to get young to come to her. Thinking they are pretty small this early but they were able to move on there own. This weekend heard them under floor and had owner cut out section where we heard them but they had moved this happened twice. Any ideas on how to get them to come out or will she possibly move them if I turn her loose. How long do I have before they die.

Call them.

If done properly and you are "somewhat" close, it works really well.
You are mimicing a mother raccoon. Takes some practice and a litter of hungrey scared babies works a lot too in your favor.
A student of mine was a master at this.
If they are old enough to crawl, (eyes open 3 weeks or more)
they will come right to you, regardless of where they are!

That said, if they are less than 3 weeks, you run a high risk of them dying and then you've got a whole different sennario, usally one you don't want!

This is the risk you run, when you are not accomlished at every asspect of animal removel....catching a raccoon in a cage trap is fairly easy, most of the time....removing the young from the depths of (Wherever...), ahhh, should've thought that one through....

Always the first sign of a true novice!
Rush in, catch the mother, now what?

ALWAYS KNOW WHERE THE YOUNG ARE FIRST! wink

a caller will probably work. If it doesn't I would consider using some vanish from WCS at the entry point and some in some of thos places you cut out. Make sure you have the home secure from entry and turn her loose. She will probably move them. If you don't have the vanish an agressive raccoon or babies in distress played over the caller after you let her back in will probably make her move. maybe some coon urine in the denning space. Trapping the babies if you can't get anything else in the space a very large glue trap will work. If you do catch them with glue either euthanize them on the trap or put vegtable oil on them and let it work for a while before you try to remove them. Right now you have a problem and you don't want to stink the place up start experimenting. Lt. is right you have made a tactical error but you can fix it. Good luck

Got some advice from MikeFlick and everything seems to be good. I didn't hear anything yesterday in the morning or later afternoon so thinking she is gone. Appreciate the advice from mike and others.

My first step is to pinpoint the exact location of the kits before proceeding with anything else.

As I write this, two of our guys are trying to get babies out of attics/crawl spaces. I'll let you know what happens.

One of our guys ended up pulling four out of a soffit with his grabbers and cut his arm on a piece of sharp metal. The other guy got six out of the crawl space and broke out in a rash from the insulation. Or in other words Hard Work = Success.

Nine times out of ten (or better) if you release the female she will move the pups out. You run the risk that she'll move them into an even worse spot or bust into another place on the house but if all else fails you dont have to many other options. Good that you hung onto the female!

Im with you Paul, what in the world does that mean? The trick is getting her to stay in the back of the cage....right? If you are real good you can put her in the back of a small cage...thats most likely the advanced version. Im sorry redonehunter, its 1am and I cant sleep I guess the sarcasim bug has bitten me. May I ask what you mean by your statement. Im sure that just came out wrong so whats the secret here?

it is not a stupid question if you do not know the answer

Might not be legal to leave a catch in a trap for two days...check the law!
