How do they work....... Are they a per animal or an hourly pay? Do you feel they view those with private companies as competition?

they are a salary paid employee not sure about the feds but the state ones here in louisiana have to leave the animal in the field if they get caught with an animal they will get fired on the spot

In Oregon the gov. guys can harvest the pelt, but not sell it. So they usually tan them themselves and give them to educational institutions, or display them at the State Fair at the APHIS booth.

And make really lousy pay...been there, done that before! However, they did fine-tune my predator trapping skills, got to give them that.
