Ok, is Wild Ed the only one with a good Jerky recipe? I know there's lots more of you out there that make your own jerky. Let's see those "famous" recipes...if it's not a family secret of course... wink

Ricky, I know it sounds kind of weird but be sure and try Turkey and chicken jerky. I buy the frozen bags of boneless chicken tenders at the store and make jerky out of them and my girls can not get enough of it. I made the last wild turkey I killed into jerky and it did not last but a few days. Always remember that fine ground black pepper makes meat hot and course ground black pepper adds flavor. smile

Recipe that's a favorite to anyone that eats it is:

Bottle of Worcestershire
Half bottle of soy. Bottles being roughly the same size.
Bout a tablespoon or two of liquid smoke.
Garlic and onion powder.Tablespoon of each or to taste.
Pepper,bout a teaspoon,more if you like hotter.
Usually a lil red pepper, not too much.Goes a long way.
1/2 cup brown sugar
couple tablespoons of honey.Makes it finger lickin good.
Mix together well and add meat.Turn a couple times when marinading meat to get good coverage.

Use this for a couple pounds of meat, double if more meat.

Let set overnight.

Omit liquid smoke if using smoker.

I like cut jerky not ground.I like mine cut thick.

Don't reuse marinade, flavor is gone.Tried it and it sucked.

Hope you like.

what really helps is if you have a vacuum sealer, vacuum seal your meat and marinade and it takes the marinade much better
