Its just got to do with where the pressure is on the traps base. The way I do it the pressure is on the ends of the base, breaking them over your thigh (like my trapping partner does) puts the pressure on the center of the base.

I agree though they should be reinforced so no matter how you or anyone sets them they won't bend. wink

On my 1.5dcs, I replace with # 2 music wire.
On dcs, 4 coiled I usually go a different direction.

For those saying you put 1.5 music wire on 1.5 coils, you talking 2 or 4 coil?
