Not sure on that but I did show Clint Locklear my wet weather set dirthole using a "snake gourd" cut in half, ( you only want the last 8" or so) and inserted into a dirthole.
The things is, if it rains, you just pull out the gourd and pour out the water using a strainer and insert it back in the hole.
A grass plug goes into the bottom first, then the bait, the sheep wool. The whole thing insers into a dirthole just 2" deeper than the gourd itself.
I got the idea from Buzzard's "Pepsi can" idea.

Someone asked about drying muskrats.

This tip I got is from (the late) Charlie Dobbins....and that is to wrap the animal in several layers of newspaper. The newspaper will absorb most of the water. Works on mink and also raccoons.

invest in hip boots, the water may only look ankle deep in many places you scout, but come time to lay steel it will be a "little" deeper than your rubber boots. LOL

I use a potato sack to carry my muskrats, that gets them fairly dry by the time I get home with them.

For those of you who like to flag your sets..go to Tractor Supply they have metal wire flags several different colors available 7 bucks for a hundred flags.

Use the new plastic coffee cans with the handle. I put minnows in there and mix my fish oil and minnows together. Makes a quick and easy bait and it even has a lid.

Now that Montana makes the longliner 1.5 coilspring I bought three dozen and took the old chain and J hooks off the Dukes I had to replace them with the machine chain and heavier swivel at the mid chain swivel on the montanas. I am going to use them for fox and it makes a nice short chain for less lunging.
