The new wolf trapping manual and DVD from the Alaska Trappers association are now available. You can get them at the cutting edge in Fairbanks or contact mailto:info@alaskatrappers.org. They are $25 each or $40 for both. I spent most of last night reading the manual and it is extremely well done and thorough.

How long was it before the wolves noticed your buddy above them?

I think I gotta take a shot! If they kill the moose under your tree....then what? How long will you be up there until they finish it off? (LOL)

Man, if I would have been in that stand with a bow.......The first 3 wouldn't have known what hit them. They might have just thought it was a errand claw or tooth.

Your buddy must not have realized that wolves can't climb??

Rick, you could see the "hitch" in his giddyup too?

Rick, they are not on the website yet, just click on the "contact us" down near the bottom of the ATA site and you can email Angel Knapp or call the cutting edge at 907.452.7477.

Rick, You didn't hear any out cry from the bios that actually manage popualtions or habitat in Idaho, Montana or Wyoming. Its just those protect everything "Parkies". Heck, most of us thought it was great when they got Parvo in 2005 and lost most of the pups.

Dusty - When I said manage pops and habitat I was talking more about what the wolves are munching. Obviously, the big dogs are still listed and we cannot do much there yet.

Wonder how cute people are going to feel when they start finding steaming piles of pet hair ;\) It's bound to happen, just hope it don't happen to one of their kids.

Either capture that wolf or kill that wolf.

I read a story in last month's Alaska magazine about this wolf (my wife bought it for me). Take a wild guess who is leading the campaign to save this animal????

Unfortunately, those people think it is "real" wildlife, just like on the Disney movie. And then you have a world famous author who "dramatizes" wildlife and makes it all sound so lovable and "humanizes" animals to so many readers who have no clue. No wonder what it is so tough to get support for what we do? I refuse to read his articles or books any longer.

I read that article in alaska magazine, I don't buy that trash rag anymore, it is only for them outsiders, not anything to do with us. Tht article was crap, someone else caught a black wolf and everyone was flipping out because they thought it was romeo, got a reward to catch them, it says in the article that part of its area is in an open area for hunting, trapping. I am surprised no one hasn't whacked it yet.
hopefully he will eat a few more $500+ dogs, then they can all see how cute and cuddely they made it.

Geesh you guys...

That wasn't a wolf, that was a really big mouse.

That's what they eat...mice. I read it in a Fowat book.
