I was going to order some stuff to do some mods to the traps that I have. I was going to baseplate them with center swivels and use three swivels on the chain. I was wondering how long do you guys make your chains. I was thinking about a foot or so with three swivels. Also I was thinking of getting some paws i pan for the dozen or so long springs that I have. They are all number 4 victors. Is it worth the money for that pan set up? Do you guys lamanate your traps also. I do have a welder and can do all of the work myself. It is really worth all the work? Do you guys have pictures of your mods and set ups.

I do not modify my fox traps. Chains generally get the ring cut off if there is one and a swivel attached to the end. I then add about 6-8 inches of cable and another swivel on the end for tying off and help keep the trap spinning if need be. You aren't going to be driving many stakes once Dec. gets here.

I never try and anchor for Interior fox trapping.

I use 6 to 8 feet of chain and a steel grapple.

TJ,

You beat me to it. If Fish and the Mekoryukoids hadn't "clear cut" the island, he would n't be having that problem......!!

If a fox doesn't hang up in shed reindeer antlers, they can go for miles

I don't modify anything on the trap. I might add chain or cable and swivels though.
