Here you go Buzzy...

There are some of the brush or stick cubbies I use... I use them a bunch, because I am trapping around livestock... MINE... so I sure don't want to catch a baby lamb and have it seperated from it Maw...

I get into ruts also, but these have worked for me for a long time...

This one is set up more for gray fox than cat... but I have taken both in this set...

This is another cat/gray fox combo set, it will catch both, and has...

I have taken 3 or 4 cats out of this set so far this year...

This cubbie has taken one cat, it is in a big brush flat on top of a ridge.....

This is a new set, just made yesterday in the corner of the buck trap, we will see how it goes... I have always wanted to put a set here....

I will get some pictures of some walk-thru sets and some badger/diller hole sets I have out in a few days....

I don't need no durned Pine trees, mesquite and cedar are bad enough... Plus those Pine trees block out the sun, and sure make it tight for a open country boy like me....

I have to go to Eula, which is east of Abilene this weekend for a Basketball tourny... My Nephew is a Senior at Roscoe High School, and Mom will not miss a game, and guess who gets to drive her to and from the games...

ME.... LOL....

pine trees are good to have around Bullet....gives you something to hide behind when an east Texas woolybooger gets after ya

I'm going to set a few more cubbies this season and see what happens...I'm hard headed when it comes to throwing dirt around and tearing the place up for cats

I like to use exposed trap walk through set most of the time. Takes those fussy cats that want to do the independent cat thing!

Steve,

How many gray fox do you take in an exposed trap??

With grays bringing some decent cash, I want to catch them also...

and do the coons flip the trap, I don't think I could get away with an exposed trap here... every trail has coon tracks, and I am trying to avoid them the best I can...

I don't have many greys or any coon (well maybe one coon every 5 years) where I trap. Friends in grey country seem to catch a pile of them in exposed traps set for cats. Guys that use just exposed trap sets, no lure, natural walk thrus catch a lot of coyotes in them also. An exposed trap can be camoflauged pretty good. A side benefit to using lures for cats seems to be keeping a lot of the coyotes out of cat sets. Which is a plus for me, but some guys want to catch coyotes also. If I don't relure for 2-3 weeks I catch a lot more coyotes in my cat sets. Each guy has different goals and deals with different trash animals on his line. We all eventually figure out the best way for each of us,,, must be that evolution thing at work!
