This compilation of several T-man member's fleshing beams, along with a few commercial offerings, is by all means not comprehensive or complete by any stretch of the hide. I started putting this album together quite awhile ago as a "show and tell" summary, primarily for new and younger trappers to glean some ideas from if they eventually wanted one for their own shed. This old timer himself got some great ideas to improve the one he has been using - long overdue for improvements keyed to more ergonomic efficiency as the old frame bends over the beam.

It is a bit premature in its presentation, as I had originally intended - my original file was lost last year with the appropriate captions crediting the makers. However, I just found a "lost" back-up file with the photos, but missing many captions. If you recognize one of yours that has no caption, kindly identify it for me and I will make the appropriate edit.

Note: I labeled the T-man Member Unkowns with a lettered designation, so if one of them is yours, just send me the A,B,C etc. and I'll change the caption.

Disclaimer: I have no affiliation or interests with the commercial products depicted. Some are just "neat," so I included them. The photos are "idea factories" for the do-it-yourselfer's creative mind.

Jonathan

PS: This was a labor of love that leaked out while I was in an elder teacher's mood.

Here are a few links discussing the making/using of homemade fleshing beam units for different animals. These are elemental and introductory. Be patient. Some of the PDF files take some time to load. You may have to scroll to isolate the beam information:

Thank you. Nice work. Clearly for the archives. Makes me wonder about the "chubby" beams I made and haven't used yet.

Great reference for the do it yourselfers.

Great Big, your beams are the only ones I would use out of all of those. If I had to use one of those skinny, poke you in the gut, type beams I would just sell my stuff green. You can do everything from mink to beaver on those and you don't have to waste a lot of time sliding the hide on and off the beam. I've been in a quite a few fur buyers shops and the most common type of beam I see is the half log.

Mntrapperboy, Maybe I was mispoken with my quill drop in this direction of "Submit." This is a trapper's forum, isn't it? I never factored the possibility into my ink drift that maybe a high percentage of "trappers" now days do not fuss any further than beyond selling their stuff in the round, or in rough carved hide removal.

Buzzard, Thank you kind, Sir. Yours was first on the list of the wooden T-man's renderings in honor of the fact that you are one of my favorite mentors in residence!

Hunterhawk, Is your diaper full enough now after that diarrhea ooze?

Buzzy, You said: "......you are wacked out!" You taught me well, Brother. How could I possibly forget? I might be dumb, but I ain't that stupid to forget something that important while in training. Silly Bean.

Buzzard, Are you questioning beyond that dribble? If so, you are more of a "wacko" than I gave you credit for. Need therapy? I haven't found a 12-step program yet either for that affliction.

Look in the Yellow Pages. Ain't listed in mine. Just maybe, as is often the case, especially with the Research Triangle in your vicinity of North Carolina, those peoples are cutting edge with their strokes of genius. It usually takes two years for their reported research results to make it this far west and north.

Now here's a post with some meat. Been pulling all my life and after reading of so many pushers I want to try it that way. Just wanted to "drop some ink" here so I can hopefully find this post later by clicking on my posts. And to say, Thanks Jonathan.
