you guys who bed in peat moss.
How do you get your trap packed in tight enough to keep from rocking?

Packing dirt around it works well, what i normally do, problem is that will usually freeze. During those times ive used rocks, pebbles, sticks, etc. and placed under the pivot points of the trap like the loose jaw, etc. and kept doing this until the trap was stable.

Takes a little longer but trapping in wet/frozen ground always does, better to have 20 traps out that will make a catch than 40 that won't.

I mix peat and dry dirt and use salt. Had a set in the ground for 10 days with 10" of snow that drifted on top . I thought for sure it wouldn't fire and was froze in, pushed down with my pull bar and the trap fired like lightning
