I have just started watching a series on the Discovery Channel called ' Verminators ' .

This is a series mostly showing our PCO brethren doing their job. Rats , Cockroaches , Killer Bees , Spiders , Bed Bugs and more. Check your channel listings for show times and dates.

My listings show an episode on Tuesday 5/6 2 am - 3 am , Saturday 5/10 12 pm -1 pm entitled " The hills have rats " . I just watched this one , not bad , learned a few things. They show a rat infestation in a mansion and killer bees threatening a day care center. Not bad footage and you get to see a lot of good camera angles of where these pests are caught.

There will be an all-new episode on Monday 5/12 10 pm-11 pm and Tuesday 5/13 2 am - 3 am entitled " Moby Rat " about a hard to catch rat and a animal-loving homeowner's struggle with hiring an exterminator. Sounds like it ought to be interesting. LOL !!

Here is a website for this show - http://dsc.discovery.com/tv/verminators/verminators.html

There are a couple of videos to watch on the site - ' Moths in the belfry ' about clothes moths with a reclusive celebrity with lots of closets with rare and expensive clothes and a video called ' Rats ' with good clips of crawling under a house in search of rats.

If you load the video player on the site you can see full episodes of past shows like ' A night at the races ' with a massive rat infestation at a horse race track , cockroaches infesting a home ( real bad ! ) , using a dog to sniff out bed bugs and some more rat footage. Also there is another episode entitled ' Rookie Mistakes ' were a technician almost blows up a house so , the PCO firm's owner sets a challenge for the rookie to see if he has the right stuff and some bed bug footage.

Good stuff , tune in and check it out

Just saw on the news about a RAT infestation at OHara airport.
Lots of rat coverage lately?
Better get ready for more rat calls!

It's a sad state of affairs to watch an elitest California company behave like school girls at their first prom.

How companies like the one profiled survive is beyond comprehension. Let me guess. The state protects them through regulating competition. Sound familure?

I watched it last night for a time and was shocked to see them seal all of the rats into this womans house. They set a few traps in the attic and in an outside water heater room. The woman had video of herself that night freaking out about the all the chewing she could hear from everywhere in her house, walls, ceiling and even under her floors. There was a shot of some kind of a critter in an access hole on the roof before the seal up. It wasn't a rat. Does anyone know what it was?
The Tech said it was the biggest rat he had ever seen. He had T-rex traps set in the attic and when he caught one by the tail or some other non-lethal part he went out to the truck and got a pellet gun to dispatch the rat, why he didn't use the hunting knife he had on his belt to whack it on the head or force it into a unfired T-Rex trap is beyond me. It was a joke.

Remember it is tv! what is better watching one of us do a job with no excitement like dead rats in traps or bait being placed out or have have a lady scared to death with rats all around. LOL

Caught all that too. Why is a tech carrying a "rambo" knife in the first place. Then he totes a GUN (I know and you know it's JUST a pellet gun but......) into a customer's home.
Jesus H. Christ here, why don't we just ask for more regulation and oversight.
Is it any wonder that the state of Commiefornicater has banned legholds and severely restricted the way our industry operates.
Did you catch the tech saying that the job took a month to complete? I wonder why. How much you want to bet that brand new exclusion has some holes in it, chewed from the inside no doubt.

I don't think I'm going to even bother watching it, sounds like I'd only end up miffed and the less people watching and giving it any clout the more likely it'll loose it's spot on the channel .
Just what we need something else to taint the unknowing public .

I just watched their show where a small town in Arizona was overrun with skunks. They set 30 live traps all made from 1X1 wire (similar to the Havaheart trap, all looked new)their catch as showed was 3 skunks-1 coon, with many traps sprung, with nothing in them. They made themselves look stupid and unprofessional when trying to put the traps and skunks in plastic garbage bags, for removal.
I took on a job in a small town near me,the first year I removed 54 skunks, 11 coon. The second year I removed 42 skunks & 6 coon with no spraying, last year only 6 skunks & 1 coon.
All the traps I used were made by me all 12X12X36 either made from light sheetmetal, or aluminium, the traps completley closed in, no chance of them spraying. It was just a matter of walking up to the sprung trap picking it up walking to the truck and driving away, no fuss no spraying, job done.

Nick;
Never mastered posting pictures on the computer, the traps I made are bent up from sheetmetal 12X12X36 box, with a hindged door on the back, and several inches ahead of the door I fastened in a piece of 12X12X18 gage 1 inch wire to prevent the catch from getting at the bait, and getting out when I inspect the catch. The trap door is made as the "WILLIAMS TRAPS", washer on each side but instead of 1/4 inch rods it is covered with metal, leaving only the open channel for the washers to slide. Just behind the channel on each side I fastened an "L" shaped piece of metal top to botton so the opening of where the washer slides was closed so the animal was completly in the dark.
I hope this explains it for you.

Willow ( Frank) ...
