We get referrals from the bug people and the police depts. Adds on the internet also work. A lot of people go there to look for you.

Depends on how busy you want to be, Some advertise on the web, local papers, yellow pages, ect. A lot of my work comes from town highway depts., State DEC., & word of mouth.

I think the question should have been "how do people find you" for ADC jobs. I've been doing this for 27 years, and haven't "looked" for a job yet. Various forms of advertising, with the best results from word of mouth..... which takes TIME.

Networking...seek out local networking chapters...read jeffrey gitomers books on sales and marketing...also pick up a marketing book by chet holmes. A website can do well but has to be an information highway and the info needs to be easybto navigate through...justbhaving a web presence is good but a website that continually produces jobs takes time...i get a l o t of work off my business website and now more and more referrals

Mostly pest control referrals. Once you have that you should look at interenet, it is what the majority uses now. We are having our websites rebuilt for around $1500. There are some good directories you can use, that we do that are cheaper in the short term. A lot of people use mike hurleys with great sucsess. http://animalcontrolsolutions.com/

I use this one for pretty solid leads http://batsintheattic.org/

At first, I posted flyers at every feed and hardware and drug and grocery and convenience store I came across.
Also, posted business cards at places that couldn't post a flyer.

I did the flyers in the feed stores, I got the web site, I've passed out business cards, been to the police station and sheriffs office and networked until I got tangled in the webbing! Very little effect. For better than two years now, I've had a web site, a Facebook page, a Google business page, a listing on Angie's List and Craig's List. From all that online exposure, I've received, to date, ZERO calls from any of it!

Where I still get most of my calls is from the local Animal Shelter and from my uniform shirts that I wear every day almost everywhere I go. Passing out cards at realty offices helped me a great deal. I have two different realty companies that call me regularly for everything from snake inspections to squirrel removal to bird screenings.

Good luck.

This time of year I let the work find me. The calls will come, yesterday I recieved a call for beaver damage in a near by town the corporation who called me has roughly 3 miles of property damage. After shooting the breeze with the pm I filled out my vendor info and got the contract. For me being friendly and dealing/ speaking about issues you have knowledge in sells a lot of my jobs. People out doing yard work, stop look presentable introduce yourself and what you do, then leave a card. Have to be a go getter in this industry or it will pass you by.

Word of mouth and a super nice owner of a pc company. I'm not full time either but sometimes I have all I can say grace over. Moles, beaver, raccoons, and squirrels. Pretty much in that order too. I'm really really wanting to get more involved w/ residential skunks and lots more beaver work. I love em and they pay well.

Hello,

I have been at this full time for five years. You got to make your presence known. I had business cards made posted the cards in stores, banks and knocked on road agents doors, police doors, and veterinary offices.

I had a website made and I am on two national websites.

I have used google adword, joined two local chamber of commerce and I am a member of BBB.

They all have helped a little.

The key is to have satisfied clients who will gladly refer you without hesitant. Each year it all builds on the next.

My business continues to grow at a 25 % to 30 % per year.

The internet is a flicked thing. This summer it gave me all the work I wanted and more then starting in September the internet got slow. I attributed to google changing their search results.

I now have hired an SEO to boost my internet presence. My SEO tells me this will take 3 to 6 months.

You have to try new and different things. I have posted road signs during skunk mating season, Got Skunks? They were professionally made by a firm I found on the internet. The signs worked for skunks but, not for bats.

You need to sharpen your elbows and get the business. Rarely has business just come to me.
