I picked these two baskets up at an estate sale. the guy said that the one without the little basket attached to the back was from the 1950s he thought, the wicker strips are 5/8 inch wide. He also said that his father trapped in P.A. and the second one with the compartment on the back for lures or what ever he wasn't sure about., the wicker strips on hat basket are 1 1/2 inches wide. Does anyone have any ideas of what type of baskets they are and the value? [img][/img]

To me they look like user pack baskets of no great value. An exception would be if one is signed by a known maker. However, ebay buyers opinions may differ.

Nice packbaskets...I have both of those baskets, first one I purchased in 1976 from Don Gerow's trapping supplies, the one with the compartment I purchased at the New York State Trappers Convention in 1978 from Stanley Hawbakers. Packbaskets with the wide weave didnt hold up as well for me, less flexibility...you're baskets may be much older than mine, but they are the same...I don't know the maker or value,

Thanks for the information, I didn't know anything about them but thought they may be worth something.
