Has anyone had success encouraging bats to move on without a "normal exclusion"
Here is the problem, 2-3 bats are roosting on siding and under the eve and pooping on the patio below(about 20ft above patio). The guano accumulates adjacent to the doorway and gets tracked into the house by pets and people. bats are only on the exterior, none have entered the building. My client wants the bats to hang out somewhere else. I can not make any structural or visual changes to the building.
Any suggestions

Cold water seems to move them. But only temporarily.

I install flashing material to the roost area. Paint to match the structure. You have to look hard to see it, especially 20 feet high. Do they prefer the look of bat poop on their patio over color-matched flashing? A physical change is the *solution* or cure, and not a temporary band-aid.

I've probably done 35 exterior roost modifications, and not one person has noticed my work.

A quick fix that's basically invisible is to cover the area with clear contact paper (shelf paper) as long as the mounting area will allow adhesion.

That makes more sense
