I'm interested in starting to collect traps with teeth. I'm not interested in breaking the bank on Newhouse bear traps but what are some toothed traps that a new collector can purchase at reasonable price? Any suggestions?

I would start with #14 victor jump traps.

Providing wild fur to the industry at below the cost of production for over 50 years.

Mostly carbon neutral since 1948.

Definitely # 14 Oneida jumps. Very common and very reasonable. # 12 and # 13 Oneida jumps are going to be more expensive.

The B&L double unders with Seminole teeth are also reasonable in price.

I've heard the Saskatchewan trap collectors are mighty generous. I bet if you talked to them they would probably give you some Newhouses and Triumphs with teeth....... wink

I started with some 14 jumps like I used as a kid. Added a Newhouse 14 and 114 from Cohunt (I think), a #13 Jump from WissMiss and picked up a #12 Jump and Newhouse 2 1\2 at the NTA. I'm going to slowly add as I have money and something catches my eye.
