Found a diamond H-22 today. What is the value? They want 25. The springs aren't the strongest or the weakest.

Are you serious? It's clear across town but will be worth the drive if that's the case.

I'm serious. According to the Andreski/Parr book the value is $250 in good condition and $400 in excellent. The pan looks really good so I would say it is at least in good condition, depending on the chain (not in picture) and the rest of the trap. It is one of the most valuable Diamond traps.

A steal at $25.00. Especially if it is all complete, all original, etc.

It is a double jaw - right?

And the jaws sit up higher than a regular # 2 - right?

Pan looks like it should clean up just fine.

Go get it - now!

It's complete double jaw. Don't know if the chain is original or not. Jaws sit fine right at the lip. The jaws were high but don't have a #2 to compare. As far as I could tell it's original.

Since your both saying to go get it, I'm getting ready to go right now

This is NOT one of the easiest traps to find! Once they get into people's collections they tend to stay there! If you can get this trap for $25.00 you need to get there and pay the guy or gal!!

It looks good to me. Well worth $25.00 plus the extra gas. The fact that the springs are a little weak is not of great concern to a collector, especially on a rare trap. It will affect the value a bit but not as much as a bad pan or damaged jaws would.

The values that Andreski & Parr list in their book, might be a bit high. $400.00 in excellent condition is a stretch, in my opinion. But you should easily be able to make $100.00 to $150.00 or more on that trap, if you decide to sell it. And you shouldn't have to look to hard to find a buyer.

Great find on your part. Way to go.

Adam - empty your PM box. You are over your limit. Probably flooded with PMs to buy this trap. smile

Consider all offers - don't sell it too cheap!!

The collapsed springs are what made me think that it might have been.

I hope that you list it on the Bay as I am curious to see what kind of money the trap fetches. Vance's book has it listed at $100, and that's for a trap that is in superb condition.

Everybody, there were several inquires and offers for the trap which I was planning to sell later on the shed. Because of the inquires via pm the trap is sold pending payment. Thank you all for all of the help and inquiries, I appreciate it.

That price of $100.00 in superb condition is very low. Almost a low ball price. I think Vance needs to rethink that price......,

I would say so too. The peeling "blue" on the metal and the collapsed springs support this as well. Still a DANG good buy!

I have nothing clever to put here.

Well, since the trap never did make it to the Bay, I guess that we will never know, will we? Did you buy the trap, Crow?
