Help my yard is tore up out to 30 yards from my pond, tried a eagleclaw trap in the water , no takers!

Thanks for the reply Latrapper, I have a heavy infestation.I would like to be rid of several at once,my son caught 2 dozen we used for fishing but seems a thousand to go.It is easier to deal with moles than these land burrowing crawdads' realy makes it rough to mow!

Something I'd like to point out is that if you have many burrows far from the pond, it's possible that you have different species there than in the pond. My pond had quite a few red swamp crawfish and some white River crawfish. Their burrows weren't a problem for me and my pond, however, I had a lot of burrows away from my pond. They were a different species. I don't know which ones they are, but they're much smaller, broader pincers, and they can easily be found in standing yard water after a rain. Just wanted to point out that trapping them in the pond may not solve the problem if the ones in the pond aren't the ones responsible for the distant burrows.

I read this post this morning and thought to myself, "Glad we don't have them around here." So an hour later I go to check one of my muskrat jobs and the customer says, "What are all those holes in my lawn?" Yep, you guessed it! I've got to stay off of the computer!

Aix sponsa, I do believe they are a different species,Not sure which yet.I would actually prefer my moles back!They run about 30 yards out from my pond. Thanks for the reply!
