Hi Brandon, There are several different variations of the 2 1/2 Newhouse traps. Some are more common, and some are very uncommon. As with most Newhouse traps there is a wide difference in what is rare and what isn't. For example, with #4 Newhouse trapst here is a huge variation between the typical number 4 Newhouse trap or the number 4 with center clutches. Both traps are stamped on the pan No. 4. Here is a example of what I'm trying to explain. This is a photo of a 2 1/2 with rivited teeth. It is a very scarce trap even though the trap is not in the greatest condition. I paid a lot of money for this trap about three years ago. Bottom line is before selling a Newhouse trap find out if it's common or rare.

I had a 2 1\2 that had the patent date (1882) stamped on the
non-spring end of the base. I always look for that.

Ol'Smoke was it the riveted tooth model? I own two of these and only one has the pat date on end of the base. The one without the pat. date I'm sure had it years ago but has since been worn off.

Cascade, the teeth were not riveted. I bought it in Colo. It had no pan and
I called around couldn't find one for sale. I sold it to one of the good guys.
