I am being asked by a client on how much to charge to blow beaver dams. Can anyone let me know how much they charge? Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Better see what it cost you to get the permits to have explosives first.

Concur, and would add check with your insurance company. Had a job when I started out, family members came home to help mama and had blown a dam and lodge. I was called in to get the beaver who survived... After pulling 2 lodge poles out of the poor old woman's ROOF, I rid the place of beaver. IMO a backhoe or hand pulling (if no backhoe access) is more effective and cleaner.

Anton and Jim,

I have used tannerite in the past to start a hole and then worked on it the old fashioned way with a chainsaw, shovel, and grubhoe. Slower but much more safe.

Oooh tannerite........ Sounds like some of the amazingly fun things I've done that started off with, "Hey, check this out!", or "Hold my beer..."

grin
