I got into this because I enjoy trapping and some farmers that let me trap their ground had some beaver issues out of season, so I got my license. I have had a few good jobs trapping beaver out of ponds for HOA's. However, I constantly get calls from people who have trapped animals and just want me to relocate it or take it somewhere else to euthanize it. So far, I have declined to do this. I enjoy the trapping part the most, the disposal sucks. Also, my gut feeling tells me that these situations will become a nightmare. I was wondering if other people just do the animal removal after someone else has trapped it?

Think $$$$ instead of nightmare.

We sure do. The cost is about the price of a service call. Between $100 and $200. We always transfer the animal to our cages so it's just one trip.

I give more estimates than I actually do. If the person is cheap enough to go get their own trap and do it themselves they aren't that likely to pay someone to remove it. Most common is the raccoon trap that catches an incidental skunk. Never hurts to throw a number out there though.

Charge them for it, pick it up, make some money, and give them your card

Then they can refer others to you win win win

Every day is a gift from GOD, don't waste it!!

If they have plenty of food, give them something interesting to smell

I take the cage and drop it off next time I'm in the area. I'm not going to chance losing an animal in front of a customer. It sounds like a really awkward situation.

Charge them!

I charge for an animal pick up, service charge, transfer & go. Seems the only animal called for is the poor skunk, nobody likes him.
