A good woodstove is hard to beat- Nothing like wood heat

If you gain, you gain all. If you lose, you lose nothing. Wager then, without hesitation, that HE exists.

wood stove. You can burn pallets and most if the time you can get them for free.

I've been experimenting with heat sources the last couple of years in the fur shed. I've used a couple of fuel oil stoves and propane. This year I settled on a propane furnace. This is a down draft furnace that is found in moble homes. Worked out great for me. The furnace is vented so you don't get the humidity issues that you do with the non-vented propane heaters. Heat is thermostat controled so it isn't constantly running. It would be even better if I could supplement with wood to save on some of the propane cost. This season I heated the shed with the furnace alone for $150. That is for about 2 months. Considering we had a fairly cold winter this it year it was a small price to pay to be comfortable all winter.

I use a dual burner propane heater going to wood heat after my addition is put on.

It depends on how big your shed is. Are the walls, floor and ceiling insulated? Do you have electric in your shed?

Mine is 10 feet by 12 feet. Floors, walls and ceiling insulated. I heat it with a small ceramic space heater. It has a thermostat on it and I can set it on low and it keeps it very comfortable 24 hours a day. When I'm working in it, often I'll have to turn the heater off for a period of time because it gets too hot. I have a fairly large window in the back that faces the sun most of the day and the heat from the sun helps to heat it as well.

Hi,

Well...I have an insulated garage that is 24'x24'. I use a natural gas vent-less heater a "glo warm" or something like that. It has done fine for me but my garage is very well insulated.
