My wife and I started building a log cabin last summer.

Started out with a little island in the middle of a swamp and lots of clearing.

The only access when the swamp isn't frozen is by Argo

Had to get creative to get the materials hauled in.

Can't wait to be able to sit and enjoy the view.

So will this be a hunting cabin or a vacation spot for you and your wife. Looks good so far.

Hauling logs now hoping to get them all out before the swamp breaks up.

Built my own version of a chainsaw mill plan on slabbing off three sides of the log to make them 6x6 and running them but and pass

The warm weather sure hasn't helped working in the woods.

Actually when we were working out there last summer they weren't bad at all there is almost always a breeze because it is so open seems to keep them at bay.

I'm guessing you mixed all the concrete on site, being too wet to get a mix truck in there ? How bout the excavation? Did you dig by hand to get the son-tubes below frost line ?

I was wondering that also. I have seen a lot of bad things happen with Sonotubes in wet soils.
