I had the idea to grab the hand warmers out of a bin of my father's old hunting stuff yesterday. A YouTube video told me what to fill it with, and a large Jon-e hand warmer kept my fingers feeling nice all day.

Have any of you tried them? It smelled a little of the lighter fluid it burnt, but outside the fumes didn't get too bad.

I have a very old charcoal stick warmer, light one end or both, place in the fiberglass filled holder and your good to go.

I remember those hand warmers, lighter fluid, light & put em in a little red pouch, smelled bad. none of these deer hunters would use them these days, with all their scent control

Yeah, unless you can be positive you'll stay down wind I think I'd leave them at home while hunting.
