Got a couple of these in a lot of traps. Can't figure out how it would be set...Could there be parts missing?

Nice pick up Dale. Hard traps to find. They have dropped some in price over the past couple of years but still bring a pretty good price.

The price was right enough that I'm thinking there may be a catch. I have never seen that trigger set up before and am not sure that is all there is to it. One cleaned up real nice and I think the other will also.

That's all there is to it Dale, trap is complete. made around 1942 in Los Angeles for a very short time period. I believe that they are selling now in around the $400 range. A few years ago they were bringing twice that.

They look complete to me dale. That square "toggle" where the dog should be is the "dog". Nice score!

I have nothing clever to put here.

I just had to see. Here is one in the set position. Now I can see why they didn't go over well.
Seems like some brilliant thought wasted on a dumb idea!!!!!

Don't think I would like to fiddle fart around with that with gloves on in cold weather either. Looks kinda like a pain. Still a cool trap tho Dale

The adjustment that slides back and forth is a fulcrum. The closer it is to the pan, the more leverage the jaws have pushing up, and makes it harder to trip the pan.
