I am looking for information about states that have wildlife damage control licenses or permits. I also need to know those states that also have the use of foot hold and Conibear traps. I am looking to give a talk to our Division of Fisheries & Wildlife about our industry. Please ask anyone you may know in other states. I will check state regulations if you are not sure.
Please send me anything you have.
Email address: don.iwc2011@gmail.com
This info will be available to anyone who wants it when I have it all listed.
Thank you

Indiana's WCO regs mirror their fur trapping regs for footholds and conibears.

Illinois WCO regs are more restrictive than their fur trapping regs. For example, conibear for WCO needs to be 25square inches or smaller and at least 8 foot off the ground. Footholds need to be rubber jaw, where fur trapping allows up to 7x7 conibears on the ground and no requirement for rubber jaw is made.

I will send regs applicable to footholds and conis in both states to your email

Illinois also has a very tough test to get a license. A lot tougher today than when I took it 25 years ago.

RHODE ISLAND. Written exam (fairly easy). Body grip traps =yes. Foothold traps= with special permit only. Beaver work out of season requires permit. In season, fur trapping laws apply.

Ohio requires those who engage in the business of Wildlife Control to be licensed (charge or barter).

Each individual operating under the license, if not directly supervised, must be certified. The certification process involves an on-line training course and testing.

Body grip and foothold traps may be used with some restrictions.

Pa. has what I consider a liberal WPC permit as to what you can use. Conibear, cages, cable restraints, footholds. Use exceptions would be of exercising good sense of what to use where.

Not the thought that since they are legal for use that you can just use them anywhere because you can. We have a few that will take advantage of the literal language of the law.
