We use a lot of these for chipmunks, voles, mice, and similar sized animals where the customer doesn't want poison or snap traps.

Today I found another one of these cages that had been forced open and broken. I can understand that people can't figure out that

the door is pushed in rather than pulled out. What I can't figure out is what kind of an animal would be in the cage to make a

person let it go in the first place. Were you taking your pet mouse out for a walk and he slipped the leash and dove into the trap?

Or maybe you own the world's smallest elephant and he went into the cage because he smelled peanuts. Let's face it; if there is

something in a 3x3x10 inch, all metal trap, it probably deserves to be there.

I love these traps for chipmunks. I have quite a few of them. If there are many squirrels around they will roll them around and set them off. I have not found a chipmunk bait that doesn't attract squirrels. Skunks and possums will drag them a little farther. Raccoons will carry them off. I have found them two yards away. But they catch chipmunks by the dozens. Fortunately I have not had a problem with people tampering with them. I have had people break the doors of larger traps letting raccoons out.

Well I guess if the raccoon was carrying a screwdriver, it could have been coons. And it was really nice of them to put it back

exactly where they got it.

I prefer the Safeguards. You can actually see what you caught and where it is before you open the door. In case you've got a vampire

bat or a coral snake or something like that. We have the completely enclosed ones and a chipmunk hit me right in the nose when I looked in.
