Is it just my imagination or is it easier to get a skunk to go into a covered wire cage than it is to get him in a Plastic Catch?

I know of a trapper that makes a living in retirement catching problem skunks in tube traps. Personally I prefer a larger trap. The location, situation and type of set needed, to me, is more important than a specific one trap to use.

Got one skunk already. But it was ran over earlier this week as maggots were already devouring it. The owner was excited and wanted me to keep setting and knows there's babies around. Set 4 cages total.

That's incredible kirk. Yup there were lots of entry points for them and wish i had more cages.

What do you all charge for skunk Removal? Since this is my second adc job I'm unfamiliar with how to quote. When we talked about the price I wasn't sure what to quote. Told them whatever they think is fair. I won't make that a habit but didn't want to charge too much especially since one of the workers is my friends husband. It's not a far drive and an restricted to when they are there as the property is gated.

Adam,

What part of NM are you in?

If you ever decide you want any poly catch skunk traps let me know.

Bought a bunch years ago and most never left the shop.

Have some other gear if you get serious. You working on other species?

We try to refer to folks that work with things we don't or don't want to.

Justin

I cover mine with roofing felt. Works for me. Wrap it up,leave enough to fold over the back of the trap and wrap with a piece of wire to hold it together.

Good idea. I used black moisture barrier on one and cardboard on another
