Well I got my skunk or at least I hope this was the problem one. I had set the Comstock with both doors open and baited with fried chicken. I had been throwing leaves or dirt in the holes every day and every day it was dug out. Then it went four days undisturbed and I thought maybe it had moved since the people had moved in and had dogs and kids running around. On the fifth day , I went to pull the trap and had a fat female skunk. Filled holes and planted grass and so far no digging. I had baited with chicken , speared a small piece on the trigger. I slid it all the way over to the pivot side and pushed the trigger until it was just on the edge of firing. Then tucked a marshmallow under the trigger. It had sat for a week and been set off a couple of times.

When i get a digger of bait stealer i bury the bait under the trap in a little dug out hole
