i have been doing animal control for a good while now but have been doing very little pest control. my church has been infested with fleas. found were a possum was getting in the crawl space and trapped it and sealed the entry area. now we are having an issue with the fleas. i have treated the inside with onslaught three times tree to five days apart and also fogged the crawl space with a few pro control foggers. they are no were near as bad as they were but some are still hanging on. what other pesticide would yall recomend? and yes i do have a pc lisence.

Suspend sc would work or cykick. Both are synthetic pyrethroids. They'll put a residual down for up to 3 months.

Adding and IGR as mentioned earlier will help prevent the flea eggs that might still be around from hatching. Precor (methoprene) is widely used for flea jobs in conjunction with the adulticides (Suspend, Cykick) mentioned earlier.

Where can you get the above mentioned items, and are special permits required to purchase and apply? Thanks, big bob

I am new to the forum and do not want to post a link to anywhere. Search Do My Own Pest Control and unless you are in NY, AK, or CT you can purchase these products, no permit required. Should you choose this route, please read the labels and use according to the use directions. Suspend SC (deltamethrin) is available in pints and Precor in 1 oz container and neither of these products are restricted use pesticides. Did I mention about reading the labels and following the use directions?

This is an excellent value combination for flea control. There are also products specifically for carpet applications for flea control (aerosols).

Yes, I am an entomologist and no, I did not stay in a Hioliday Innn last night.

And not only can you buy all kinds of insecticide that you should be licensed for, but the prices are also very competitive. When you

also get free shipping, it's amazing that anyone can compete with some of these Amazon Prices!

You need to take into account the life cycle, the pupal metamorphosis phase will take around 14 days. In the pupal case they are safe from most insecticides. They will also stay in the pupal case until stimulated by vibration on the floor made by the next potential meal - in your case the congregation. We always advise that clients are likely to see fleas though in decreasing numbers for a fortnight after treatment. Occasionally a second treatment is needed if the floor areas are not insecticide friendly, or clutter limits the area available to be sprayed or some kind soul can't help themselves and cleans after the spray has been applied. We often suggest with empty properties that someone goes in and walks around acting as bait for fleas to hatch and thus come into contact with the insecticide.
Also remember that when the fleas hatch and come into contact with the insecticide they do not die instantly so people will still see them and may get bitten before the insect dies.
Hope this helps explain some reason why the work you have done doesn't seem to have worked.

We just strongly suggest vacuuming 2-3 times a week while getting control as this will do the same thing as foot traffic and most likely do a better job stimulating an emergence response from the pre emerging flea. This really helps to speed up the cycling in most cases reducing human and pet hosting considerably.
