Is there an after market cage door lock that can be retrofitted to any cage door to stop the release of target catches bye AR or customers?

Are the customer or someone else letting the animal out of the trap and not resetting the trap. I had this happen a couple times. I push a tooth pick lets say, two sq. back from the door and in the middle of the row.
If the trap had been moved just a little I would know it, I all so used a trail cam, also take a picture. This worked for me. I also have a line in the contract that address this issue.

Now there is a great idea that nobody has been able to make work on a large scale. I seem to remember some guys trying to invent

something like that but as far as I know, no one has succeeded. Of course, our guys would be locked out too. I can just picture rows

of locked cages with animals inside.

Yeah - they're called Comstocks! Great traps, but a word-not-acceptable-here to set.

I often use small baited Styrofoam cups as a “tattle tale” in cage traps. An animal that spends any time in the cage is going to either tear the cup up or get it dirty. Many restaurants serve condiments or side orders in them. They can be purchased in bulk from big box stores such as Sam’s Club.
Sam’s Club Styrofoam Cups, 4 ounce- http://www.samsclub.com/sams/dart-hot-an...navAction=push.

I don’t recall ever having a cage trap stolen. I, however, have set some up in what I considered questionable areas. These were locked to trees using 3/32nd inch aircraft cable with a loop at each end. The loop was ran through a reinforced area of the cage then locked around a tree. Some cables were up to 20 feet long; extra cable could be wrapped around the tree. Most folks don’t have the tools required to cut cable quickly.

I've never has a trap with a skunk in it screwed with.

Agree on the comstocks... The way that door closes you might have a whining hippie caught by the arm when you arrive.

Go to McDonald and grab a few of the cup you get to put catsup in. Put a little bait in the cup, if the bait is gone or dirty and the trap is tripped or open you know someone is screwing with the trap.

Oh You guys have made me think. I might have an idea for making it almost impossible for some one to release. Except you the operator. I will have to figure out how to get the idea pat. Protected first

I've had people literally destroy a cage trying to let the caught animal out. They ended up killing the animal in the process. Luckily the home owner saw who did it and pointed him out. A little explaining about the laws and the culprit paid not only for the cage but the caught animal as well. Never had a problem again on the particular job. I'm going to rig up some chained super stakes and cables to lock down my cages in the future. To many liberal idiots around this area.

Still do not think anyone has designed one. Always figured a comstock would have them stumped, had a cat get in one and instead of calling they released the cat no problem.

Can always rig up a FITH Ops perimeter trip alarm so if the cage is moved the alarm is tripped, might not stop them but will cause them to clean out their drawers before sitting down again. Any one that is supposed to check or maintain trap will know about the alarm and deactivate prior to moving. I rigged one to dispense a cloud of skunk essence.
