My daughter tells me to go to Scrubadub car wash for an oil change. I just about had a heart attack when I paid the $80. ( And I

used a $7 coupon besides ) I gotta tell you, that was the absolute fastest oil change ever. Less than 10 minutes and he showed me

the dip stick when they were done. Synthetic oil and a Mobil oil filter. Then you also get a car wash, but the best part was at the

end. You pull up to the vacuum hoses and you have two on each side. AND THEY'RE STRONG ENOUGH TO SUCK COON POOP OUT OF YOUR CAGES!

That's the cleanest my van has been since I bought it. And my cages are perfectly clean too. I guess you do get what you pay for.

2014 Transit Connects are terrible for changing oil or I would have had my son-in-law do it and it would still be filthy.

Did they bring the (slightly dusty) air filter and tell you they'd install a new one for $50? LOL!

I open my tail gate up once a month and sweep the back end clean. Every once in a while I shake out the floor mat on the drivers side.

Truth be told, I'd have little faith in a ten-minute oil change. Did the tech use a vacuum to suck out the worst of the old oil? You know - the gunky stuff left at the bottom of the oil pan when the thin oil runs out. I've read that's the stuff you want to really get out of there more than anything else. That's why I let 'em drip for at least a coupla hours when I'm doing an oil change.

Oil cost about $24.00 filter around $5.00 and I am sure they pay less than that buying bulk. So about $30.00 in materials. So you paid $50.00 for oil change( Labor) and vacuuming the car. Working 10 minutes that is $250.00 a hour.I need to get into that business.

Do not forget the free $10 car wash. And did I mention that they gave me a free 16 ounce bottle of water while I was waiting? My

daughter goes to the same place for the same thing and pays less than $50. She said that I must have "SUCKER" written all over my

face.

Paul, I guess your daughter is a lot prettier then you. I guess it is like going to the convenience store and getting a soft drink for $2.00 when a 2 litter bottle cost less at the grocery store and it has 5 times the amount.

Some places around here advertise a $9.99 oil change, 5 qts and a filter, with a little * after. They don't tell you you have to buy 3 at a time, and they expire in 1 yr.

Talk about boondoggles: bottled water (or, as I refer to it, "Yuppie water"). About 2,000 times as expensive as tap water, NO government reg's ('cuz it's not a food). Matter of fact, it's entirely possible that it IS tap water.

Oh, and here's another one: local tire chain (Autotire) advertises "$16.99 oil change"...truth is, the receipt says ~25 bucks! Show the real price, jerks!

I just had Jiffy Lube do a change. I got a "free" car wash where I watched them take a few minutes (most cars need only seconds. The cars being washed in front of me were gone by the time they finished washing the truck) with a pressure washer trying to get bug guts, silicone, foam and all the other stuff we see on our trucks off. Then they had a cute little thing dry off the truck. It was 95 degrees out and I had just picked up a dead skunk and had a few dead chipmunks and moles in the back. It was bad enough to make a person gag. I had to sit and laugh while watching it.

Dave, if you had to drink our tap water, you would be happy to drink anyone elses. Our tap water if perfectly safe to consume but you

should have all of your taste buds removed first. I pay less than a dime for a 16 oz. bottle and I really don't care where it's from

because it tastes great.
