Has anyone received a phone call from homeadvisor.com to be one of the contractors that they list on their web page? What is your thinking!

We should all pile into it. If we do....we will all be where we are today. I suppose we all could ignore it...and get same result.

I believe it is operated similarly to Angie's List- http://www.angieslistbusinesscenter.com/. Ignore it!

Angie's List is fine. Home Advisor will bleed you dry.

Homeadvisor is pay per lead. Leads always seemed warm and I converted around half. I spent $4200 (at around $13-19 a lead) on them last year. Probably still freerolling off of the first job they sent me.

Dont use them anymore. There are cheaper places to find leads. But can't really complain about them. They helped me get started.

I think if you offer high profit add ons like attic restoration, roofing, or long term pest control it might be good.

they got you over 200 leads which you converted to over 100 jobs for $4200 and you weren't happy? of that 4200 spend what was the gross on the leads they got you?

Didnt say I wasnt happy. I loved working with Homeadvisor. I just dont need them anymore.

I do a bad job of tracking revenue so I cant give a honest answer there. Costs are easier for me to track. The first job they sent me lady asked if I do restoration behind raccoons. 15k job.

They are an arbitrage company, plain and simple. They have a price that they will sell you leads for. When Adwords isnt too competitive and they can convert leads at a profit they run PPC. When Adwords is too expensive they they still have a website that provides some organic leads but not as many.

You can do the same thing yourself. If you don't know what you are doing with PPC your leads can cost you a lot more that Homeadvisor's. Or they can be cheaper if you do.
