Guys, what is the best book to buy for info on collecting old traps? I've started buying a few older traps that I think are neat but have no idea on the value of them. I'd like to be able to make an informed decision before I spend my money. Looking for a buyers guide or pricing guide. I know there is alot of knowledge here about this so could someone give me some books or THE Book's name if such exists.

You will actually need 2 books. Probably an investment of $100.00 for the pair, which would be money well spent.

The Steel Trap in North Ameica by Richard Gerstell. Full size hard back book, 300 p,us pages, lots of pictures. Not a price guide but talks about the history of traps in the US from the 1800s to 1983, including all the various companies.

Trap Collectors Price Guide by Andreski &Parr. Price guide, lots of pictures and other info. Also includes bear traps (old and reproductions).

Have fun with your new addiction. smile

Thank you Nancy, I've read a lot of your posts and it seem like you always try and help with good information. I'll be looking to pick those up.
