Paul, I wasn't sure if I liked commission wages at first, but I have seen great enthusiasm this week from my employee. He is up early, and earning well, catching a lot of squirrels too. I'm having to spend less time tracking him and he has a more flexible pace

Glad it's working for you. I know it was much better to have piece work in my factory jobs than to hang my brain on a hook and get

paid the same thing every hour.

Being an employee is risky and for the reason Starvalley pointed out. You are not in control of your income. It can be cut off at any time.

I know that you and Dave are excellent employers and I really wasn't thinking of either of you when I made that statement.

Steve, I have to laugh. One of our guys was taking a break and doing some of the bookwork that he was probably behind on. I thought

to myself that he could take as much time as he wanted, because as long as he had his vehicle turned off, it wasn't costing me a cent.

I have no time to argue points anymore. I think I made my point. When I was an employee, I always had way to a slip out of bad employment situations. Sure, there is risk as an employee. However, if you invest in yourself....it can be managed. Once, I had a boss tell a colleague and I that he might only be able to keep one of us. I quipped, keep Dan.....Dan said no...keep Dave. We argued quite some time. The next day, we had a new supervisor....and kept that silly job.

Dave, I'll bet the unacceptable word started with the letter "s" and ended with the letter "y". I've had some "silly" jobs myself.

Started with a D...ended with N. But, silly works too.
