Anyone else get coyote dens under porches? This back porch is used pretty often coyotes do not seem to fear the people, and have been seen on the porch. The parents walk within 30 ft of the home owner and just ignore her. Set a trail came next to the steps yesterday afternoon, the card was full when I stopped by 12 hrs later 220 pics I will try to post a few.

I don't recall any under porches but if you have a big deck you could end up with a family of them. I believe I've posted this on

here before but I was standing on a customers deck watching three coyote pups playing in the backyard. All of a sudden they ran

under the deck right where I was standing. I didn't move a muscle and sure enough, one of them had to stick his head out to take a

peek and that's when I grabbed him. Anybody else catch a coyote with his bare hands?

We remove fox from under decks all the time here in Ohio. Never have had a coyote under one. Thanks for sharing.

Takes a special permit from the DEEP. Client has to call and get it. Last one I had like this I harassed and they took off overnight. The DEEP called me early this year because they have had 20+ calls from the PD in town. We were just waiting for a call with a situation like this. Now the red tape needs to be gone through:) I have been getting tons of Coyote calls the past two years, and I do not advertise at all for coyotes. Hands are tied pretty much. I am guessing that the state will cut us loose in the next couple of years, just need a few of the bunny hugging lobbyists cats and dogs to be taken. The anti lobby is very strong here we can not even get the collarum as a tool.

LOL the guy at the DEEP that told me he would sign a permit is away for the week. The guy that is covering for him wants to go the harassment rout. Guess some more pups will grow up thinking decks are a good den site. I know of 10+ pups within a mile of this site, going to be a bad winter for pet owners in the area.
Wishing the state would put out some standards of what type of problem is needed for a special permit to be issued.

RF, I enjoy your posts and it makes me wonder how two states can be so completely opposite. The wealthiest people in our state live

in our city and you would think that we would have animal protectionists crawling out of the woodwork. Just the opposite. They want

every coyote dead and I don't think they really care about the methods used. I don't think politics is the answer. We usually end up

on the liberal side of the spectrum in politics but our game laws would favor Conservatives. The issue that animals are more

important the people just never had a following in Wisconsin. Too many BMWs and Lexus being smacked by whitetails, I guess.

I love doing wildlife removal, but going through all that with a tree hugging DEEP. Can't understand that they want you to harass them away, just making another problem for someone down the road. what do they have to do, grab somebody by the a$$ before they give out the permit

Very frustrating when we get these calls. Have had customers watch their cat being eaten in their yard. But thats ok by the state standards.

Wow, here I can snare year round if coyote is doing or about to do damage. One DNR officer told me when a coyote is moving it is about to do damage. In a curtiledge we can use all legal traps.
