Guys from the Midwest. What is the normal amount of moles you would expect to get from a one acre lawn?
Thx

Lots of variables to consider for that answer.
I caught 63 moles from a job last spring in two connecting town lots in 14 days. Not the norm, but that catch sure threw a monkey wrench into the avg. catch statistics.
Many jobs aren't an acre in size so getting a catch avg. figure is near impossible. Our recent numbers have increased appreciably over the last 5 years compared to the previous 20 years. Ok catch average or should I say medium so we can throw out the huge cat he's and the single catches, Or is this question like asking how much you charge. ( not trying to be a smart A or rude, there just not another way to word that Thx

I once caught three moles from a lawn which was about 8 foot X 12 foot. Once caught 33 from the first check on a field that was about 12 acre.

Set a small yard two weeks ago. It had four new mounds and a few mowed over to the back of the yard. I told the owners it looked like one mole. I set three OOS. Three days later I checked and had three moles. That is not common for most of the year but it is "dispersal" time now. When the young of the year get the boot from momma it is hard to estimate. A couple of years back I took 161 from an 80 acre grass seed field. That is what can happen when the little guys are not worked with for a few years. Last time on the field I caught 20 which was more like a normal amount when the moles are trapped yearly. Ted

Out of interest; what do you guys in America charge for mole work? I charge based on time, but a flat fee. I look at size of property vs how many traps I will set, allow 5-8 days. I know some guys charge by mole. I have heard as low as 40 and as high as 75

Generally avg moles per acre out here is 3-5 ...but there are variables Thank you this is what I was looking for. I know there are always exceptions to stuff. But I know there has to be a "normal" amout as I understand they are territorial Thx again
