Looking in to getting a camera and just wounding what still most of you guys like. I'm looking in to a Flir ether Monocular style or the handheld with screen so what are some of the pro and cons?

I did a job where I was looking for a cat in the walls of a home. I rented a unit from Home Depot. It was very basic. They hired a home inspector also to look for the cat. He had a unit that cost $14,000 and he told me that he was thinking about purchasing a unit for $54,000.

He said that the $54,000 unit was more of a want than a need.

Purpose of my prose? You can spend as much as you want on a thermal unit.

We have a Flir and I think we are all unimpressed. It sees what its supposed to see but that is usually not enough. I had a customer

at least a dozen years ago that had a unit that his son sold for a living. It was an expensive unit, but he pointed it at the ceiling

and you could see all four baby raccoons just as clear as a bell. That's the only imager I've ever been jealous of, but I'm sure it's

one of those $54 grand ones like Chuck is talking about. Then there is also the added expense of the armored truck that we would

have to keep it in so it doesn't get lost or broken.
