Greeting fellow trappers and adventurers. Been a busy spring and looking forward to summer. We've had the mildest spring I can remember here in the interior. Been busy hauling cabin building materials out for a buddy building a remote cabin. Good times.

15,000# of materials hauled in with the Caravan. What an impressive bird. Good bunch of help unloading and many years of great fishing to come.
Saw lots of game on our flights to and fro.

Been wanting to do a little remodel in the house with some Knotty Pine T&G. Finally stopped talking about it and did it. Not much of a carpenter but the hides covered it up well.

Flew out to the trapping cabin and finally got the tin on the roof of the fur shed/shop.

It was 85 Degrees and hot and dusty for the first few days in the mountains. It finally cooled off and we got some much needed rain. Not much but every bit helps. It was a dry tinder box out there and the river was lower than I've ever seen it. Once the roof was completed, it was time to play. Went out looking for bears and found lots of tracks and sign but no bears spotted. On to something else, antler hunting was good. Picked up a dozen moose sheds and a one caribou shed.

Covered a lot of country, didn't see much for critters, probably hiding from the heat. Saw a few sheep which made me happy since I didn't see any this past winter.

The pine looks good in your home. I like the shadows your black bear triple are throwing on the ground. Have a great summer

Good job on the moose sheds! Have you ever fall moose hunt at your cabin?

If it was easy, everybody would be doing it!

The site address is caringbridge.org/visit/jrpederson You have to register your email account to log in, the site name is: jrpederson

Please let know if you have trouble getting on or any questions. Thanks. Kami

Hey Kami, tell JR he really doesn't have to go to such lengths to get a little attention, I hope he has a complete and speedy recovery.

Thanks, Len. Makes it a bit easier for us "challenged" non-computer guys. On my way.

Well it looks like we are having a couple days of winter this season. -27 this morn at the house. I'm healing up fine, just trying to put on some weight and muscle. 198# to 150# is a pretty big jump. I'm now at 160 and holding. It is really hard to go from being so strong to so weak is such a short time. It's hard to eat with no sense of smell or taste. It becomes more like work then pleasure. Been spending a lot of time in the shop reloading and building #9's. Took the tundra on a ride and did well. Got some mods to do on the Scandic WT yet and a little maintenance to do on the Tundra.

Just a quick note of thanks for all the prayers, support and donations this year when I was down in Mayo Clinic. The place is amazing. I've been independent most of my life and I learned a lot on this adventure. YOU CAN NOT FIGHT CANCER BY YOURSELF AND NO ONE IS INVINCIBLE. Heading back down to Rochester for check ups in a couple weeks. Good luck to everyone and be safe this season. Thanks again.

GREAT to hear you're working your way back JR, you definitely have my utmost admiration. You're one STRONG man, I wish you a speedy recovery. I bet it was bliss for you to get back on your machine and get some wind in your face. I hope your checkup trip goes well, safe travels!
