Spoke with Mike today, he was banned from this site a few days before this happened (who hasn't been LOL). I told him you all were supporting him and he wanted me to let you all know he appreciates it.

Looks like I'm out of the penalty box. Thanks for all the prayers and wishes Guys. Me and Bobby had a good run, almost 29 years. We had a blast in that time, and I cant think of a single regret. We always told each other we loved each other last thing before hanging up, and that was always backed up with a hug when in person. My sons never stop making me proud, and they knew that. It was pretty tough the first week, but after that I realized that I had no regrets about our relationship, and it got easier. He had over 300 people at his funeral. Everyone loved him, and they were there to prove it. I actually had a hard time accepting that I was ok with it so soon. Still sad, but I didn't let myself turn it into something the mind can more willingly process, like guilt, regret, or anger. As soon as I kept it what it was, sadness, and was alright with being sad I got through it real fast. Accidents happen, and it is what it is.
I really appreciate you guys and your support!

Thanks again Fellas. It wasn't just my loss, and yea, I never know what to say at a time like this. People offer to help any way they can but my mind drew a blank every time someone offered. I think people would take the pain on themselves for you if they could. But this is something a person has to deal with themselves. I made my trip to the dark side, feeling like I failed to protect my son from this. But that didn't last long. Accidents happen, and we all end up in the same shape at one time or another. Instead of people meeting me on the street and telling me how sorry they are waiting for me to snap, I like it more when they come up and tell me a funny story about him. He loved to make people laugh, even if it was at his own expense. He always had a positive vibe going on. When he was younger, trying to figure out what kind of man he wanted to be I told him to start with his funeral, and think about how he wanted people to talk about him. Then work backwards and become that man. It looks like he took it to heart.
