How do you guys sell at these type of trade shows?

I am expanding my gopher/mole service , and really want to make it a main focus in the coming year. I am also going to be learning bats. I am pushing my advertising dollars into three Home and Garden shows in april, may, and september.

I do not do a per animal service. I usually just bid jobs and a week program based on time. How do you bid this type of job and get sales without first seeing the customers property? Do you sell them a voucher, contract, or just set up appointments?

Shows are a great way to showcase your business....but dont go there to show off your service...make your booth fun and interactive....one year we did a complete caddy shack theme....worked awesome....the laen n garden shows if worked right can bring in $10,000-$50,000 over course of a yearor more....we focus on moles n voles at the shows we do

one thing to understand about shows...you will hardly ever make the return on investment during the actual show or even in the weeks that follow....it is 2 months away from when I did that show pictured above and have almost made back the $1,800 it cost me to put it together...$900 for the booth and then materials, etc needed it may take another 2-3 months to make it back or a week...shows are to get your name out there to a broader amount of people quickly...over a 3 day spread and generally are a good branding tool for your business...makes people aware of your services.

interactive can be actually have them play the whackamole game, have a small presentation in the booth, we made Mole-Inko...plinko but mole instead and they got trinket gifts or gift certificates for services. the small truck you see there is what my former big truck looked like..we put a sign in front of it that said "Have Your Child Get In And Take His/Her Picture" many pictures were taken in 3 days and I have to believe those pics made it onto facebook, myspace, and even sent in text messages to friends

And adding to what Joshua so eloquently posted, there are some dividends to these shows that you never make the connection to.
