I wish that there was an average charge because this question gets asked often. I can't tell you what we charge because 10 guys will

say I charge way too much and 100 people will say I'm giving my services away. I'll try to write something that most will agree with.

Between $99 and $189 for the set-up or service charge depending how far you need to travel.

Between $39 and $69 for each squirrel removed depending on expenses in Northern California.

This will give you a flat fee of about $140 on the low side and $260 high end for a visit and one squirrel removed.

Now let's hear from everybody else.

Depends on the job, are you going to contract the repairs if need be or sub it out if any? Some states require you to be licensed and pull a permit for repairs. I started low just to get the work and experience and as I got better with my techniques I raised my prices. Paul you're about there on the pricing, regardless of the job I work with all my clients. What's your skill set when it comes to removing squirrels from a structure? Or will you be ground trapping IE squirrels raiding feeders etc..?

Smile, you're an expert!

You must charge what you personally need to run your business and feed your family the way you know it has to be. Cost is relative to
those things, plus the market tolerance. There are people charging $25.00 to pickup a trapped animal, while others are over $150.00 and more.

I asked the same questions way back when before I started as I assumed this was a simple question. In reality it has nothing to do with anything
other than your true numbers, how much does it cost you to drive there, to insure yourself, to pay for taxes, equipment, labor, now how long will
it take you to trap the animals in question, what do you want to profit over your base costs.

Once you start down the road of what the true cost is it will shock some to see what they really need to be making to keep the wheels turning professionally.

More jobs per day means you could charge less per job, or you could make more per day, so many ways to look at it, how many squirrel jobs do you
plan on doing per day/ per week/ per month, how many cages do you need, how often will you check them, are you doing per animal or per project?

Hope that helps.

Get into your real needs and numbers, there are many posts on this subject if you use the search too!

Best,

Justin

Pretty much all of my squirrel work involves trapping the squirrel (or squirrels) and excluding the hole or holes (squirrels in attics). This would typically cost $450 at a minimum and twice that or more if there is a lot of exclusion to be done. I've also done it for 50 bucks and less for somebody that is genuinely in NEED and every time I did so it came back to me thru word of mouth advertising 10 times over...

What does CA require in the way of license? In GA we are required to pass a state exam.

Ca requires an exam, pretty tough one too.

Cal cage, price for you is going to be far different from the guys on here. I think u mentioned, that you were around 16. Unless you plan on goi,g legit, which would be good for you if you did, you won't be paying licenses, advertising, insurance, and all the headache to come with that, , so your cast is lower.

You also aren't trying to support a family, I assume. So your needs are less. You would also probably be stoked working a few hours a week making 10-15 an hour doing this where some of the guys need to bring,in 75-100 an hour.

Take as many jobs as you can that you can handle at a time and no more, don't get overloaded. Try to truly solve them all and learn everything you can. No matter what you charge you will adjust as you go.

Hey California, what do you trap in the vineyards? As you can imagine, we have very few in Wisconsin but the only one I did trap was

being worked over pretty good by the raccoons, once the grapes ripened.

Check your state laws, here in KY you have to be 18 to be licensed as a NWCO.

Of all God's creatures, only the honeybee improves the environment and preys on no other species.

Realistically you have to be 18 to do anything,on your own. By the books,Idk,if,you can even run a lemonade stand.

You can do it, just stay low key and work within your abilities. Don't do repairs, stay off roofs, be honest, dontbcharge too much and live up to the few promises you make, which should be few
