Doing an attic 'coon job....saw a extra large male and two younger coons in the same nesting area as a nursing female. Have never experienced this before....any comments?

Trapped out a family on a friends farm. I got mamma, daddy, and 1 of 2 babies. The other baby was nestled up to momma in the coni and startled the heck out of the farmer who didn't see it. I never caught the baby.

Hey Mike, good to know you're still alive and kicking. I got a call not very far from where I'm sitting. Raccoons in a cathedral

ceiling. Set a cage on the roof and caught the female. A drywaller came the next day and made a nice cut and I hauled out four

babies. Two days later I get called back, set another cage on the roof and catch another female. Next day, same drywaller, opposite

corner, nice cut and three babies. I think they were sisters and I also have the feeling that they were born in the same house the

year before, although not in the cathedral ceiling. The woman was not nearly so amazed that she had nine raccoons crawling around in

her living room ceiling as she was that the guy who removed them was the father of her daughter's grade school teacher.

Lol Paul! Strange "goings on" for sure...probably won't be my last first...just haven't seen this before. I was always told mama wouldn't tolerate Male near den site for fear of aggressive behavior....fear of eating little ones. Kind of the whole theory behind using male coon gland as a deterrent...lol
Always learnin'....

Never seen that scenario; always have heard adult males are not tolerated around a family.

UPDATE.
As of this writing 9 raccoons from the same attic! One of the coons was the ugliest/oldest boar coon I've ever seen. Big male had to weigh 20 plus pounds...(in the Spring!). I'll bet he was pushing 30 plus in the Fall.

I had a first myself yesterday. We were cruising along doing about 70 when the entire windshield and front of the car was splattered

with what looked like mosquitoes. Was this a mayfly hatch or something like that? Turning on the windshield washers didn't help a bit.

I seem to be picking up on a Bill Murray fetish on here. First it's Caddyshack, then it's Ghostbusters. I'll play along. Today I

chased a woodchuck into his hole and then back out again into my cage so I guess you could call this Groundhog's Day!

Finally! Wrapped up the coon job in the attic....thought I had the whole litter of coon pups but missed one...it was covered up and wriggled into a corner. Glad to be done...11 coons and 4 babies from the same attic. Paul I'll be ....the Coon Buster today.

I had my first 12 hour day. Amazing how far behind I am still. Would have been we hours no matter what, but the guy wou was suppose to handle a cleaning job called in, so I had to cover. Also stepped through an attic, a first, and stated a commercial gopher job.

Now on to 2 hours of homework.
