I have a long established program of producing medicinal tinctures. We harvest many of our own herbs but sometimes there is a need for acquiring some in a larger quantity that we have available here. We have been doing this for 30 years so it is not something which is just beginning. I like to purchase from a digger that I have a relationship with understanding the importance of this art. The main herbs I need at this time is Fringe tree (chionanthus virginicus) Hydrangea, and joe pye root. I am interested in some sassfrass root bark for making essential oil also. When is the best time to dig Joe pie? Bunch of it grows around here. If there's a market one of my sons would probably be able to dig lots of it.

Its good anytime actually but of course when it is dormant is always considered best for roots. I am looking for a long term supplier who can ship it fresh. I can always use some. I have always dug my own and only once did I have to find someone to purchase it form I cant remeber what I paid but he had set the price. If you can get an idea about how many punds your son would be willing to collect and about how much you would need to charge then perhaps we could work out a deal for some. I want you to be happy and the main thing is dealing with someone who is digging fresh like this is always the best way to insure quality. Where are you located?
