I received a call today the potential customer has a red fox coming into her yard with a litter.I have trapped my share of fox for fur with leg holds and cable. My question is because of local cats in and around her house how affective would cages set side by side be to capture these fox.If a cage isn't a good idea and I use Collarums will the litter stick around to be picked up.Thank in Advance

Unless the male was killed, he is also part of the family group. They have a very hard time surviving without both parents. If

you catch the female, the male will carry the pups away and vice versa. You should probably set a bunch of cages and catch some of

the young. This nearly always prompts the parents to grab whatever is left of the kits and look for a new home. At least for me, it

makes for a happy customer ( He got rid of the problem without having to sell the house to pay you ) you're not upset because you got

a service call and the price of a couple of foxes ( Not to mention a customer who will call you with any other problems ) and even

the foxes aren't too upset because they only raise a couple of pups to maturity anyway.

Has anyone squirted coyote pee on a few tree trunks/limbs/rocks to get foxes to evacuate an area?...just wondering.

Im not an ADC guy but I wouldn't think it would work real well. I have already caught fox in remakes from a coyote catch the very next day.

bic, I'm sure you've probably already heard this one because it's been around for a long time. A fox trapper spies a competitor

making a dirt hole set in an adjoining field. The price of fox hides was really good and competition was keen. In an effort to

hopefully turn the odds in his favor, our fox trapper waited until his competitor was gone and then slipped over and urinated on his

dirthole set. The next day there was only one fox caught in those fields and I'm sure by now you can guess exactly which set caught

him. This story is too good to not be true.

I have caught fox both red and grays in sets that held a coyote and vice versa. The only reason that I'm leaning towards cages or Collarums is because of cats that can be a problem here.I believe the fox are after the cats to feed the pups.

Newt and I both have pee sets LOL As far as the den with young for me many times I just throw a rag with human odor on it down in the hole, They take off by the next morning most of the time. sometimes it doesn't work.
