I did a search and didn't find any info....how do you bone out the tail? Anything else different from other critters I need to know? Thanks.

If it's not singed, keep the fur damp (spray bottle works) as you skin it. On the tail skin it about 1/2 way and use a tail puller for the rest. Once on the board, plet the tail. Havent' done many so someone else may have more information.

Yeah, you need to slice down the tail further than other critters. The tail will also need some extensive fleshing. You need to use a sharp knife to deflesh the tail. Other than that, I don't think otter is too difficult. Keep the fur damp like Bob said.

I use a surgical blade on mine. Start at the but hole and make one incision down to the tip of the tail. There is a ridge of gristle on either side of the tail bone carefully cut down the side of the tail bone freeing it from the gristle. I just get it started, then toward the base of the tail I cut all the way aound the bone so I can get my hand in between the bone and the hide. Grip it good and rip the tail bone out, it will take it out all the to the tip.
