That's what I just told a caller who is dealing with a recurring squirrel issue. His "guy" charged 225 to catch one squirrel and foam a hole and now isn't returning calls.

My six year old can catch a squirrel but can your guy keep them out?

Some days you just can't fix stupid.

That would be $150 for the service call, $40 for the squirrel and $35 for the closure. There is nothing wrong with the pricing, just

the closure I imagine. And no, in most cases you can't keep squirrels out. ( Unless you replace the wood with steel or brick and quit

making cedar shake roofs mandatory. )

I set up two customers for rabbits this week. Three cages each and used fencing and hay for bait in the big two door old style

Havaharts. I caught seven squirrels before the first two rabbits, which were caught today. I questioned each squirrel thoroughly

about why they were attracted to hay, but they weren't talking.

Hey Getting There, where did you have your basic? I went in the Army in June of '61. We had a bet as to who could keep a patch off of

their sleeve the longest. One of us did it! Private E-2 all three years.

Lovely Fort Leonard Wood, Missouri, garden spot of the Ozarks. My claim to fame is maybe being the only E-2 to kill a deer on base

during the deer season. My sergeant's wife was supposedly running a house of ill repute in Waynesville just out side the Fort. When I

offered him the deer, he made all the guys in the barracks come outside and look at it, thereby endearing me to all my fellow troops.

But that was nothing compared to the look I got from my commanding officer when he received a box from my mother. Inside was my

Browning shotgun which I had her send me. ( Without anyone's permission of course ) After talking it over with my sergeant, they kept

it in the arms room and let me use it whenever I had free time. Boy, I was a terrible soldier. ( But a really good shot )

Could not hit anything with a M-1 grand, but a much different story with a B.A.R.
Did most of my time in Germany. I was a gun bunny 105mm self propelled.

Nobody could hit anything with the garands. They had been through WWII and and using all that steel ammo had wrecked the rifling and

widened the barrel. We used 50 calibers, 30 calibers, and 3.5 rocket launchers too. ( That's a bazooka for those of you who are

reading this ) We also got to play with rifle grenades, smoke grenades, and TNT which looked an awful lot like C-4. Seems I always

had something destructive in my hands. A lot more fun than studying to be a clerk typist.
