160user OP trapper 1 Joined: Jan 2007 Posts: 17,853 MN	I have a few questions for the experts here. This trap does not belong to me and it is not for sale. I was always told it was a Standish but I can find no marking on it. A portion of the chain is not right and the 2 springs don't match. It is a QUALITY made trap but I can't find any marking on it. The base should be pretty distinctive and it is roughly 9 inches from jaw post to jaw post. Can anyone help me with the ID on this one? I have nothing clever to put here.

DiggerDale trapper Joined: Jan 2014 Posts: 1,353 North Cass Co. Minnesota	I've looked at a bunch of Standish traps and they both had a two piece base and cross. Could be yours is a very early one but without a stamp or makers mark it would be tough to prove.

roztocki trapper R Joined: Sep 2013 Posts: 192 ne iowa	Some were marked, most were not. This tap is a PEAVEY. There were several blacksmiths with that last name, certainly related ,if not brothers.The trap comes from the state of maine.
