This winter I have been waiting for work. So, in the middle of a snow storm I get a call about a opossum in a basement. It is a 40 minute drive from my house under normal conditions.

I go to the opossum job and finish the job check my phone. I have a call from someone who has a opossum in their chicken coop. They are four miles from the job I am on.

These were my first two opossum jobs I have ever gotten for adc work.

On my list of delicacies, the opossum is nowhere near the top. As a matter of fact, I can now understand why marsupials have such

unappetizing names like wallaby, Tasmanian devil, wombat, and my favorite, the numbat. ( How dumb do you have to be to be called a

numbat? ) The only other marsupial I've caught, sounded pretty tasty; the sugar glider. But just as I was about to sprinkle it on my

Rice Krispies, the owners showed up and took him home.

Last spring I cage trapped one in a client's dining room, cage was placed on a drop cloth and set under the dining room table.
Caught the opossum the first night.

There is a long story that goes with this job but the moral is this: The client is always right.

Never argue with a fool - they will drag you down to their level, then beat you with experience.

I'm sure we could argue about the taste of different meat forever. I've never heard anyone else but me say that the best wild game

they ever ate was a tenderloin from a Dall sheep. I can still taste it and the year was 1966. I consider myself somewhat of a meat

connoisseur since my father was a cattle broker and my mother was a professional cook. We didn't have a lot of money when I was a kid

but we ate like a Vinke billionaire.

Yeah, can you imagine how those 378 opies must have smelled, piled like cord wood in the back of that pickup.
